Are you passionate about community, play, and making a difference? The Collingwood Toy Library is on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to take on key roles in our organization! These roles will help us continue to provide an invaluable service to local families while strengthening our reach and impact.

We have always rotated toys between the two branches but historically, it was done less frequently. We decided to increase our efforts in this area, as it became clear from the Fitzroy member survey that members wanted to have access to more toys in every toy category.
🎤 Media Lead
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for spreading the word? The Media Lead will coordinate and implement our media strategy to grow awareness of the toy library. Responsibilities include:
✅ Coordinating the media subcommittee including social media manager
✅ Developing audience research and media campaigns
✅ Managing digital and print marketing efforts
✅ Engaging the community through social media and interactive campaigns
🕒 Time Commitment: 8+ hours per month, plus 10 committee meetings per year.
📱 Social Media Manager
Love Instagram and Facebook? Help us capture the playful spirit of our toy library and build an engaged online community! In this role, you'll:
✅ Post photos, reels, and updates 2-3 times per week
✅ Highlight members and community partnerships
✅ Promote events and thank sponsors
✅ Share the benefits of toy library membership
🕒 Time Commitment: Flexible 4+ hours per month, committee meetings optional.
🤝 Memberships Coordinator
Help us grow and nurture our wonderful community! This role focuses on:
✅ Engaging with members through newsletters and events
✅ Running member satisfaction surveys
✅ Organizing onboarding processes for new members
✅ Planning member-focused activities and collaborations
🕒 Time Commitment: 5+ hours per month, plus 10 committee meetings per year.
🏡 Human Resources Volunteer
Support our small but mighty team by managing key HR functions, including:
✅ Reviewing and updating staff position descriptions
✅ Coordinating performance appraisals and employee records
✅ Assisting with recruitment and staff onboarding
✅ Ensuring compliance with HR policies and OH&S
🕒 Time Commitment: 4+ hours per month, plus 10 committee meetings per year.
